Hello fellow book lovers! Welcome to my blog “BOOKS WITH A SWAGGER”! My name is Saumya and I currently own more unread books than I can finish. It is an addiction (I know!) but very enlightening one…or so I hope.
I read, feed, dream books. By that I mean my fictional friends are far too many and we have had some deep and invigorating conversations over several cups of tea. If only people in real life were as interesting; it would make venturing out of the house more fun in these troubling days! I love collecting books, tea and teacups. But hope that I finish my books as fast as I consume tea. Over the past millennia of my existence (just kidding… but it might feel like millennia when you love regency romances as much as space operas) books, cover designs, tea taste and my geo location have all undergone drastic changes. What has remained constant is the utter delight I get when I open a new book and start a new story. Also, when I find that perfect blend of tea which makes it hard to decide whether I could smell it faster or gulp it better.
My interests are diverse. I read everything from Contemporary to Non- Fiction to Classical Literature to Fantasy to Romance to Thrillers and everything else that lies in between. I am not a picky reader but my rating chart is rather strict. It takes very little but a great synopsis to entice me towards a book but whether the book makes it to my best friend list is something that takes more than just a good cover. I love a good character development. I love when the story seems to flow out of writer’s pen so organically that it feels like the author is as surprised by twist as much as the reader. I love when the characters evolve as the reader evolves in the fictional world. I love when the book starts in the middle of action and we as reader have to figure everything out. I love reading an anthology of essays about my favorite books. I love re reading my favorite books. I love reading in parks, I love reading on my porch swing. I love reading on a rainy day as much as I love reading during a snow blizzard.
